June 11th and 12th, 2016, 12-5 pm
Learn about customs from a wide range of cultures by listening to live music, watching traditional craft and cooking demonstrations. Crafts will include early American broom making, wood carving, weaving, Bengali doll fabrication, Mexican dress making, Chinese calligraphy, African sculpture and more*. Musical performances will feature hammered dulcimer, fiddle, banjo, concertina, accordion and drums. Tours of King Manor Museum will be free. In partnership with Queens Library, the Mobil Library will provide loans of books and materials for all ages from 12-4 pm. Traditions Festival will take place rain or shine. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council through the Cultural Immigrant Initiative.
Summer Kickoff Festival

Forget about TV, time to get off that couch and head outside! At 1 pm listen to a read-aloud during Storytime with Literacy INC. From 1:30-4 pm, Blow giant bubbles, make your own ice-cream, create a work of art and play historic games on the lawn at King Manor. Tour the museum for free.
