What was a kitchen like before refrigeration and supermarkets? How did Rufus King and his family find, make, and enjoy their food? In this STEAM Break, learn about King Manor's ice house, try insulating your own ice house, and make your own butter to take home!
This program will be using clay and marbles and may not be suitable for scientists under the age of 4.
Admission is free! Pre-registration for this event helps our staff prepare for your arrival, but registration can be completed at the door.
Participants will also receive a coupon for a free Kid's Combo Meal from our friends at Raising Cane's!
This program is supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
