Made In Queens exists to decolonize the art that we consume and to represent the real talent and stories of Queens, New York. It is resistance to white supremacist and patriarchal structures that purposefully erase and underrepresent the valid and valuable art, stories and experiences of BIPOC, women, immigrants, gender expansive people and queer folks in our communities, and in the established art world. Most importantly, Made in Queens is an ode to the bustling and vibrant ethnically diverse communities of Queens, New York, the magical place that we love and call home.
